Disciplinary & Rewards
Welling School aims to promote high standards of maturity, self-discipline and learning through positive encouragement. Achievement is recognised in class, assembly and whole school events. Subject teachers and tutors communicate positive and negative comments on students’ progress, work ethic and attitude to members of the Sixth Form team. This is done through data collections and assessments.
If students are failing to meet the expected standards of Sixth Form students; a support programme is put in place very quickly. The following action could be implemented depending on the circumstances:
- Class Teacher Intervention : Intervention in place for students who miss deadlines, fail to complete classwork or show a lack of effort in lessons.
- Level 1 - Faculty based contract : In place for failing to meet the expected standards within a subject.
- Level 2 - Head of Sixth Form Contract : In place when failing to meet the expected standards expected of a sixth form student.
- Level 3 - Headteacher Contract : In place for failing to meet the expectations of a Head of 6th Form contract
- Level 4 - Final Stage Contract : In place for consistently failing to meet expected standards in subjects and within the school.
