Homework

Homework is an integral part of the curriculum and can provide opportunities for students to utilise and demonstrate the skills and content they have acquired through a variety of means.

At Welling School, departments may make use of subject specific platforms for homework such as Seneca, Sparx Maths, Blooket etc. All homeworks will be set via students' Google classrooms so that they are easily accessible and so that parents are informed via the Google summary email each week.

Where technology is not readily available, it is up to the student/parent to make the class teacher or Head of Year (HOY) aware so that printed resources can be provided.

Expectations and Rewards

  • All subjects set homework once a week
  • Homework to be set on google classroom and recorded in planners
  • There are no sanctions for students for not completing homework in lessons, no detentions are to be set
  • There will be a rewards system to support students progress such as Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze. This will be selected by the Head of Faculty at the end of each term, incorporating students' application, effort, consistency and quality of homework.
