The EDUQAS Level 3 Diploma in Criminology is a qualification with elements of Psychology, Law and Sociology. It complements studies in a wide range of other subjects, including other social sciences. The qualification would support learners’ progression from any study at Level 2, particularly GCSE Sociology. Criminology is assessed by two controlled assessment projects and two examination papers. In year 12 there will be one controlled assessment (unit 1) and one exam (unit 2). In year 13 there will be one controlled assessment (unit 3) and one exam (unit 4). Topics covered include different explanations for why people commit crime, the roles of different parts of the criminal justice system, and the impact of the media on fear of crime.
