Bike Workshop

This term the Bike Workshop at Welling School is looking to expand its activities. Students in year 9 are receiving small-group tuition with the intention that from the beginning of November they will act as peer mentors, pairing up with younger colleagues to support their development as mechanics.

We are hoping this will enable us to increase the number of bikes we renovate, which will benefit the work of "The Bike Project", the charity receiving our completed bikes who then pass them on to people in need. When we have enough bikes ready, students will help transfer them to the charity’s workshop in Deptford, giving them a flavour of how a professional workshop operates, and a better idea of how their hard work benefits the wider community.
